New CD single "So Cold" will be out in Dec thru Out Of The Loop Records. Features exclusive live B-sides taken from the Light The Fuse launch.

The track Save Me Compression is featured on the CD, "Monsters of Australian Rock" that comes free with latest issue (#28) of American rock 'n' roll magazine Carbon 14. The video for Save Me Compression also screened on Rage last week.

The Volcanics are currently recording their debut album, which is planned to be released sometime around Mar/Apr next year. As a result the band will be having a break from the live circuit for a while.

In the meantime you can read an interview that John did with the Danish rock n roll zine, Lowcut.

You can read the interview John did with Perth based, Groove Magazine early this year. He talks about the history of the band and the state of the current Perth scene.

The split CD Light The Fuse is now out through Out Of The Loop Records. The CD features The Volcanics' cover the Bamboos' Snuff as well three new songs. Also on the CD are The M-16's and Fourstroke.

The Volcanics have been gaining some airplay on Spanish radio so thanks Radio Ciutat Vella 100.4 fm.

Also the guys will be playing their only May gig on Friday 6th May at The Hydey with The Drones who will be launching their new album and are one hell of a live act so make sure you get down for what will be a big fucken night.

Thanks to all those who turned out in Sydney & Melbourne & special thanks to Stereo City, the boys from Resist Records, Toshi & Mach Pelican plus The Tote, Pony Bar & Empire Hotel for their hospitality.

All the gig were great & id say the highlight was The Pony at 2am followed by another great Tassie band The Reactions.

Our support for Mudhoney was also great and they were a lovely bunch of fellows to play with. Our last gig for a little while will be this Wednesday night at Rosemount supporting Tiger Army (US) so come down and have a beer.

The Volcanics would like to say thanks to everyone who came and spent their new years eve with us at Amplifier. It was a great night.

The bands first east coast tour will happen on the last weekend in Feb, Sydney Feb 25 and Melbourne Feb 26.

Volcanics t-shirts will be available again at shows very soon, first two pressings sold out, this time a very limited number of shirts will be available in 'Volcanic Red'.

Volcanics have just finished mixing four new songs which will be released on a split album through Out Of The Loop Records in mid March.

The Volcanics are stoked to be added to the Perth Big Day Out and are looking forward to a big Jan & Feb of gigs & touring.

Thanks also to everyone who turned out to make The Celibate Rifles tour an awesome weekend.

The band would just like to say a big thanks to everyone who turned up, bought a cd or tshirt & generally had a good time at the cd launch, which was an awesome night for us all.

Our CD has got a great response from Sydney (FBI) & Melbourne (PBS & RRR) public radio & we should be heading over there early in the new year. On the upcoming front we will be playing at Capital City's final show as the boys are heading off into the yonder so that should be a rollicking night & also will be heading down south of WA with our good mates M16s but these dates will be posted as soon as they are confirmed.

The free fridays are going well so get down to Amplifier on either of the next two fridays for some great bands & rockin dj's.

Plans are underway for The Volcanics to release their debut EP through local label Out Of The Loop. It should be out early September and features 4 originals plus a cover of The Rocket's Light The Fuse.

The Volcanics have a new drummer, Warren Hall, who used to play with The Gutterville Splendor 6.
